We keep seeing the beloved gallery wall pop up every where from Elle Decor to Pinterest. From dinning rooms and bedrooms to entry ways and kitchens, gallery walls are a perfect way to display paintings and pictures you have collected throughout the years. When creating a gallery wall be sure to keep in mind the following: Keep to a general color scheme. Whether it’s gold, black, or silver, a general color scheme will allow the wall to look clean and cohesive. Mix and match paintings, pictures, and drawings a long with different styles of frames. Incorporating antique pieces with a modern look will help give a personal, yet thoughtful touch. Do you have a wall in your apartment or home that would make for the perfect gallery wall? Today we have Jena from Chi City Fashion who shares with us her favorite designer for spring and beyond!
—
Hi GOLP readers! If you don’t know much about me, chances are the one thing you may know is that I am openly obsessed with Proenza Schouler. After that genius Spring 2010 collection, I was hooked! And I’m still not over it. I love everything from the colors and prints to the funky shoes and unique silhouettes, all most definitely perfect for spring. Not only does Proenza have amazing life altering clothing and shoes, but there is no other bag that beats the PS1. It’s the perfect size, has the best hardware and quality of leather, as well as just the right amount of compartments. What impresses me most about the brand is that designers, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, met while studying at Parsons. The two collaborated on their senior collection together which ultimately became Proenza Schouler…and later was picked up in it’s entirety by Barneys. How often does that happen? Pretty much never.
And lastly, when it comes to PS you have to know the brand pretty well in order to recognize it on the street. So when I see someone call out a Proenza piece..I know that we are going to be very good friends.

We are happy to announce we’ve teamed up with one of our favorite ladies, the one and only Tory Burch. If you haven’t heard, the designer has opened her second flagship store here in Chicago at 45 Oak where Katie and I stopped by last week.
The new store is full of bold and classic Tory colors made to please the eye. Must we also suggest Tory’s Blog where she not only provides a dose of inspiration, but also includes her favorite city guides which naturally includes Chicago. We picked two fabulous restaurants off of Tory’s Chicago restaurant list and paired our favorite TB items that we would wear to each restaurant.
I picked out this fabulous Margee blouse and camel clutch. Perfect for the day to night transition. I picked this combo to wear to the infamous Girl and the Goat located in the West Loop. A must order, their grilled chef creek oysters.
Katie got the most adorable leopard print Brooke dress and paired it with the orange patent Robinson envelope clutch. How perfect are the two together? She would wear this to Chicago’s southern comfort food hot spot, Table 52. We highly suggest ordering Chef Art Smith’s fried chicken and waffles.

As if we didn’t need another reason to celebrate this holiday season, we decided to throw a little holiday soiree with our two new favorite Chicago gals, Nicole and Lauren of Nico and LaLa (last seen here). We invited 50 of our closest friends to preview some of Nico and LaLa’s fabulous products. We must say the N&L desk calendar is a personal fav and makes for the perfect holiday gift and/or stocking stuffer. Below are some shots from the party. A sincere thank you to Nicole and Lauren for helping us throw a dashing party and to all who came out last Thursday!! Happy Holidays! - GOLP
