On the streets… Australia Fashion Week

Hello Lincoln Park readers! I am so honored today to be guest posting today. My name is Sam and I blog over at The Peak of Tres Chic. Today I will be sharing some of my favorite dresses and looks for spring. If it wasn’t already obvious from my blog name, in fashion I tend to gravitate towards neutral colors to create a more chic look. Lots of black, white, and caramels. However, this spring I have become a color-aholic and can’t get enough of bright, bold patterns and colors!

I live in short dresses from mid March to about mid October. That sounds crazy, right? Living nearly in Mexico (I reside in Houston) the weather is almost always sunny, hot, and humid! It’s hard to stay fashionable in heat, but this season I am determined to use my new passion for color to brighten up my everyday wear.

For balmy summer nights when you’re not going out for drinks with friends or to a special event, accessorize a colorful dress with a classic handbag and strappy statement heels.

Another great way to add spice to a summer dress is by pairing it with cute jewelry. I love the mutliple bangles paired with the flowly red number.

I love wearing a belt around the waist of a dress. It can add so much and helps to define your figure.

A floppy hat is also a unqiue touch! I think I need to try this look this summer.

I also adore patterned sundresses. The more intricate the pattern, the less accessories you need! I love the messy side braid paired with this floral mini. So feminine and sweet!

Are you inspired by all the color and pattern popping up this season? What’s your go-to look for summer? Thanks for having me over, GOLP! I hope you will all stop by and say “hi!”
XOXO, Sam
As you may know, we love interiors and design as much as we love fashion. Of course we want our apartment to be just as chic as the clothes we wear. We constantly see design and fashion intersecting. From layering textures to incorporating pops of color, we constantly take cues from fashion and transpire them throughout our apartments. We are excited to announce that we’ve designed a custom vignette for La-Z-Boy and will be hosting the grand store opening of the Lincoln Park location with some other notable Chicago ladies including Shani Silver from Refinery 29, Amy Tara Koch from Bump It Up Style, and HGTV’s Monica Pedersen.
La-Z-Boy is celebrating its 85th anniversary this year and since its inception, has had a proud history of comfort, quality, and innovation. We invite you to join us for the grand opening Thursday, May 10th from 6-8pm at the Lincoln Park location (2647 N. Elston). Our vignette will be entered into the Designer Dream Room Sweepstakes and you will be able to vote on for your favorite vignette on Facebook from Thursday, May 10th through Thursday, June 7th! Every contestant will be entered to win at $5,000 gift certificate to La-Z-Boy! We hope to see you there! Xo - GOLP

Hi GOLP readers! If you don’t know much about me, chances are the one thing you may know is that I am openly obsessed with Proenza Schouler. After that genius Spring 2010 collection, I was hooked! And I’m still not over it. I love everything from the colors and prints to the funky shoes and unique silhouettes, all most definitely perfect for spring. Not only does Proenza have amazing life altering clothing and shoes, but there is no other bag that beats the PS1. It’s the perfect size, has the best hardware and quality of leather, as well as just the right amount of compartments. What impresses me most about the brand is that designers, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, met while studying at Parsons. The two collaborated on their senior collection together which ultimately became Proenza Schouler…and later was picked up in it’s entirety by Barneys. How often does that happen? Pretty much never.
And lastly, when it comes to PS you have to know the brand pretty well in order to recognize it on the street. So when I see someone call out a Proenza piece..I know that we are going to be very good friends.
